value. The ability to create and use symbols in Indian jewellery occurs among
the rural people of Indian society, who constitute about 70% of its total population.
Indian ornaments have been established as symbols of ethnic unity, and identity
and that is why in India, from generation to generation, all women within a rural
community aspire to own the same traditional objects.
